Every cell constantly produces a whole arsenal of proteins. The instruction what is to be built comes from the cell nucleus: this is where the DNA is stored, the heredity molecule in which, so to speak, the construction blueprints for all cellular proteins are stored. If a particular protein is to be produced, the appropriate command is 'copied' in the cell nucleus. The copy consists of a DNA-like substance, the RNA. Via pores in the cell nucleus it reaches the cell plasma. The individual parts of the desired protein are put together there on a kind of assembly line. In this process the assembly line follows exactly the blueprint which is stored in the relevant RNA. This method has an Achilles heel: 'enemies' can misuse the assembly line to produce their own proteins by faking the commands.
Stellar Satellite Communications Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of ORBCOMM Inc., today announced the introduction of the DS300-D and DS400 dual-mode ORBCOMM satellite and GSM communicators. The first to be commercialized is the DS300-D, which features expansion ports that allow the addition of external GSM and Zigbee wireless modules. The DS300-D will be followed shortly by the DS400, which incorporates GSM and Zigbee wireless communication devices and a DS100 satellite subscriber communicator in a single enclosure. Where the DS300-D is designed mostly for high value asset tracking, the DS400 is specifically designed for heavy equipment and fleet management applications. The DS series of satellite subscriber communicators are the result of a joint engineering and manufacturing effort between Stellar and Delphi Electronics and Safety, which continues to produce reliable and cost effective products for the ORBCOMM market.
Wayne's main strip is newly-paved, with wider streets and re-layed sidewalks thanks to the hard work of construction crews. But, it's the businesses along those streets that kept the downtown alive during a bumpy construction season. Construction equipment stills decorates the streets in this Northeast Nebraska town. Reminders of a project that shut down the part of Highway 15 that runs through the heart of Wayne, Nebraska. But, while the road was closed, the real heart of the downtown kept its welcome sign on the door. Randy Pedersen, Wayne Business Owner says, "I think if all of us have made it through that, I think we'll continue to thrive and business will definitely improve with the new street, I think." Dozens of businesses endured months of heavy construction right outside their doors.
