Tyco Electronics announced that it has been awarded a coveted Global Technology Award in the category of ID Systems for its unique Reel-to-Reel RFID Line. The crystal glass award was presented by Global SMT & Packaging Magazine's Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Trevor Galbraith to Alan Strassman, product manager of Tyco Electronics Automation Group's RFID systems, on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 in a ceremony that took place at the Sofitel Hotel during the Assembly Technology Exposition. This line is an industry first ? it is an entire assembly system. The system has many features, including throughput up to 9,000 cycles per hour (cph), a full 20" wide Web process capability, and 12 ?m placement repeatability ? 3 Sigma. In addition, user benefits are high ? the system offers either passive or active designs, direct die pick from wafers down to 0.008", and positive displacement dispense technology.
The rise in the cost of gasoline also is a rise in the price of petroleum, and petroleum is a component in many building materials, industry experts say. That translates to a rise in the cost of everything from new home construction to retail and industrial construction. Hamilton City Schools officials are nervously watching those increases and hoping their bond issue passes Nov. 7 to fund construction of new schools. If it is approved, the 4.91-mill bond issue will generate the local share — $72 million — to construct eight new schools. The Ohio School Facilities Commission will kick in $120 million of the cost. If it fails, the district most likely will try again, but the longer they wait, the more inflation makes the cost creep up, officials say.
Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) has condemned the inhuman attitude of the authorities of Delhi government as well as the MCD for sealing the small shops, houses, banquet halls and farm houses. It also condemned the anti-people activities of the authorities being carried out in the name of implementing the Supreme Court order. It should be remembered that in 1998, LUB had vigorously opposed the demolition of factories and now it will not hesitate to take similar action if this juggernaut of demolition or sealing continues, LUB said in a statement issued on September 22. It demanded promulgation of the Master Plan 2021 to regularise all constructions whether dwelling houses, shops, factories, banquet halls or farm houses because they provide essential services to the public. It all started with a PIL in the Supreme Court by one M.C.
